Starting from July 1, 2016, GCC certification requirements will be mandatory for certain low-voltage electrical equipment and supplies in the gulf states.Following the implementation of the code, GSO member states must meet the safety and EMC requirements listed in the technical code for low-voltage electrical equipment manufactured locally or imported into their markets.

Seven gulf states (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, united Arab emirates, Qatar, kingdom of the sultan of Oman, kingdom of bahrain, yemen)

GCC certification application process:

1. The manufacturer submits the application for GCC certification.

2. Submit application materials (document review (application form, technical documents, etc.) + EMC report +CB certificate issued by the organization);

3. The certification department shall review the GCC application form, test report and other certification materials.

4. The certification department shall register the products in the GSO database;The certification system delegates the registration number of the product,

5. The certification department issues GCC certificates;And grant the customer to use the GCC flag on the product.

Prepare materials for GCC certification:

2. CB certification +EMC report

3. Product customs code

4. Product pictures

5. Product label

6. Bilingual instruction in English and Arabic

7. Other technical documents (circuit diagram, PCB layout, etc.)

Note: not all certifications require GCC certification. GCC certification has a control scope. The products under control are as follows:

1. Household electric fans 2. Refrigerators, freezers and other refrigerating or freezing equipment

3. Centrifugal dryer and washing machine, including machines with washing and drying functions

Food grinders and blenders, fruit or vegetable juicers 5, toasters 6, electric hair appliances and hand dryers

Household heating apparatus 8, microwave oven 9, other stoves, including cookers, cookers, heating rings, grills and baking utensils

What is the price of GCC certification?

EMC report quotation is about 9000 +CB certification is about 35,000 (the specific quotation depends on the product) +GCC certificate is about 13000.

After the GCC certification application, the product shall be affixed with the GCC certification LOGO.

GCC certification period: 2-3 weeks for EMC report; 4-6 weeks for CB certification; 2-4 weeks for g-mark certificate application;

Pay attention to make EMC report first, then apply for CB certification, avoid EMC rectification after obtaining CB certificate, which is inconsistent with CB report picture.

GCC certification exemption products are as follows:

Electrical products used in special environments (e.g. flammable environments)

1. Products used for radiation and medical treatment; 2. Parts of freight elevator or passenger elevator; 3

5. Radio interference products 6. Professional products for ships, airplanes and trains that meet international safety standards.
